This historic home at 1101 South Street in Greensboro, Alabama was purchased by Judge William Edgar Torbert and Sara King Torbert in the 1890s from her first cousin Anna King Pickett and husband Dr. Joseph Pickett. Judge Torbert's daughter and Edgar's great aunt  Adelaide Torbert Lawson lived in the house until her death in 1993. Edgar's parents Virginia Walton Torbert and Edgar Cyrus Torbert, Jr. moved into the home in 1993, and his dad continued to live there after his mother's death in 1994 until his own death in 2011. Edgar sold the home in 2013 to a bed-and-breakfast proprietor. The house is in the National Historic Registry.
